We are so excited to announce that we were able to raise more than $13,000 through our Walk-A-Thon!

October 1, Prescott Group held our annual Walk, Roll, and Ride-A-Thon at the Emera Oval. The event brought our community together and helped us raise more than $13,000 in support of Prescott Group and Club Inclusion’s work. We are proud of everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and helped make the day a success.

This year, for the first time, the event took place at the Oval. The new location gave participants more ways to take part and enjoy the day. “I liked having the walk-a-thon at the Oval. I went for a walk and rode a bike; I had more options,” said Kendra Larade.

Prescott Group is proud to work with community members to increase inclusion across the city. “I had fun going to the Oval; we got to walk more, and more people came,” said Shane Neve. Meli Thompson added, “I loved that the walk-a-thon was at the Oval this year because we got to go around the city, which is my favourite part about Progress Place being downtown. I had a blast.”

Big thank you to our volunteers and community partners

We want to thank the Co-operators crew for volunteering their time and helping make sure everyone was safe and everything was ready to go. Events like this make our community stronger, and we are grateful for the people who show up to support inclusion in action. “It’s always nice to have volunteers for big events like this, especially this year, when the event took place at the Oval,” said Caitlyn McKinnon.

We are also thankful to the Bluenose Marathon team for helping organize this event year after year. “I got to see Myles at the walk-a-thon. It was amazing!” said Erika Bower. Their continued support helps make the Walk, Roll, and Ride-A-Thon a meaningful and memorable experience for participants. “I’m proud of myself; I got a medal today,” said Judy Jackson.
