What are we looking for? 

Prescott Group is currently looking for enthusiastic, versatile and dedicated professionals to fulfill the role of Instructor.   Working full time hours, we have both permanent and one-year contract positions.    As a strong advocate for persons with disabilities, you will also possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be self- motivated and organized.     

 Our Instructors play a lead role in supporting and coaching participants to excel and enhance their skills.  Working in a team atmosphere, you will enable participants to realize their potential through development of work and life skills in a safe and inclusive environment.   

What will you do in this role? 

  • Collaborate with participants to better understand their wants, needs and identify any obstacles & barriers to overcome 
  • Use a person centered approach focusing on supporting participants to gain a variety of skills which will further enhance their quality of life 
  • Work within our various programs and social enterprises, where you will communicate ideas in a clear, concise and interesting way to motivate participants to realize their potential 
  • Utilize your skills and experience and demonstrate that you are patient, imaginative, objective and resourceful 
  • As part of our various teams you will be taking part in the production of various goods and services 

 What can help you be a successful applicant? 

  • Post-secondary education in human services or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education  
  • Awesome interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Attributes such as patience, adaptability and resilience 
  • Knowledge of methods to support persons with intellectual and complex disabilities 
  • Motivated team player with a passion to learn and share knowledge 
  • Strong organizational skills including time management and record keeping

 What we are looking for? 

Prescott Group’s is currently looking for enthusiastic, versatile and dedicated professionals to work in our Employment Support Services Program.    Working full time hours, the positions may be either on permanent or one-year contract basis.  Although the normal work day is Monday to Friday, hours of work and days may change dependent upon employment opportunities for participants requiring employment support.  For success in this role you will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be self- motivated, organized and someone who is a strong advocate for persons with disabilities.     

Working in the Employment Support Services Program you will be part of an exciting new project and a team committed to inclusive employment in the community.  

What you will do in this role? 

  • Collaborate with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities to better understand their wants, needs and identify any obstacles & barriers  
  • Participate in various community outreach opportunities  
  • Facilitate participant led workshops which will focus on the skills necessary for success 
  • Utilize your networking skills within the community to find or create positions that participants will excel in  
  • Work with the employer to identify any adaptations and supports needed for success  
  • Provide on-site coaching for the participant to ensure successful integration into the worksite 
  • Maintain detailed files of progress 

What do you need to be a successful applicant? 

  • Post-secondary education in human services or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Must have a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

Prescott Group is currently looking for an enthusiastic, versatile and dedicated student to fulfill a Marketing and Social Media Student Position.    The position is working full time on a contract from May until August.  For success in this role you will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be self- motivated, organized and someone who is a strong advocate for persons with disabilities.     

The Marketing and Social Media Student will assist in showcasing our various businesses with the end game being to increase sales and to increase awareness of our unique offerings. 

What you will do in this role? 

  • Collaborate with participants and staff to better understand the unique offerings we have 
  • Develop presentations, and social media tools that effectively promote public awareness for our organization and its mission  
  • Work within our social enterprises to assist with packaging and promotion of our products 
  • Help to promote our businesses, elevate our product presentation, increase sales and position us for success for the future.  

What do you need to be a successful applicant? 

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education in marketing or public relations  
  • Awesome interpersonal, communication and time management skills  
  • Attributes such as patience, adaptability, and resilience 
  • Knowledge or experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities

  • Strong organizational skills including time management and record keeping
